October Fun!

It's been a really long time since I've been on here.  We had such a fun and busy summer with the girls.  They are running all over the place and into everything!  Everyone kept telling us it would get easier once they were a year.....not so much lol.  Olivia has learned to climb in the last couple of weeks.  I turned my back for a second and she was on the table and trying to scale the pantry.  Isabelle is a little bit shorter so she's not quite climbing on things but I'm sure she will be in the next couple of weeks.  October was such a fun month.  The girls absolutely loved all the decorations, costumes and most of all candy.  They learned to say trick or treat and pumpkin.  They also have learned most of the animal noises and they have such cute and funny personalities.  I wouldn't trade having twins for the world even though it can get hard sometimes when they team up on me :)  Here are some of the things we did in October.

Jenn's kids raked up a bunch of leaves at my parents house and the girls loved to throw them in the air.  It kept them busy for such a long time.

We took the girls to the pumpkin patch to pick out a pumpkin.  Isabelle loved the white pumpkin below.  Olivia didn't really seem to care too much about the pumpkins.  She just wanted to run around.

We went with Jase's parents down to Alpine where they tag their Christmas tree.  The girls loved to run around in the "forest" and they are obsessed with pine cones.  Isabelle had about 6 that she carried around the whole time.

We went to the ward trunk or treat the weekend before Halloween.  We had practiced trick or treating all month long.  Jase would close the door and I'd have the girls knock and attempt to say trick or treat and Jase would put candy in their basket.  They were getting pretty good at it but when we went to the trunk or treat they just stared at all the strange people and didn't even care they they were offering free candy.  On Halloween we took them to a couple of the neighbors house and they actually took some candy from a couple houses and they really seemed to like it.  Isabelle even said trick or treat to one house.  I was such a prould little mommy.
My cute little Isabelle

My sweet little Olivia

While I was making a queso for the Osborne Halloween party Olivia snuck into the pantry and took a box of cereal into the play room.  I heard a rustling coming from that room and when I went in this is what I found.  The whole box of cereal dumped out and the two girls sitting in it chowing down. I love my two little mischevious girls!

Here is our family picture at my parents halloween party.  It took quite a bit of begging and a little bit of bribing to get Jase into his costume.  So much fun though!

Zoo!

Jase and I took the girls to the Hogle Zoo this last Saturday.  They had just opened the new exhibit so the zoo was super packed so it was pretty hard to move our big stroller around.  We really thought the girls would like the animals if they moved around and were active but it turns out they didn't really care about anything....But Jase and I still had fun and the new exhibit was really cool.
Looking at the giraffes.
                                                       The girls loved this elephant.
This is at the end of the trip.  The girls were super sleepy and not the happiest.  Hopefully next time we go they will like it a little more.

Birthday Party!

We had the girls birthday party on May 12th.  We did a ladybug theme and it was so much fun.  We had Costco pizza (yummy) and breadsticks and of course cupcakes and ice cream.  The girls were very spoiled and got a lot of really great presents and got to smash a cake from Nothing Bundt Cake. Delicious!  Thanks everyone for coming!

One Year!

Izz and Liv turned a year yesterday (May 8th)  It has been such an amazing year sometimes hard but most of all amazing.  I realized I never wrote about their birth so I thought I would write about it now.  I went into the hospital mid April because I was having contractions and I had dialated to a 2.  I was started on magnesium to slow down the contractions which worked but I had to be put on immediate bed rest.  Because I couldn't feel my contractions I had to stay in the hospital and have non stress tests everyday.  I spent my birthday, Easter and Mother's day in the hospital.  It was a long month.  I went to labor and deliver 3 different times because I kept going into labor.  So on Saturday May 7th I had a couple of visitors, my cousins and parents.  The L & D nurse came up to do my stress tests about 4:00 and I was having pretty strong contractions every minute.  She called the doctor and the doctor said to check and see if I was dialating and I was dialated to a 6.  The nurse told me that they were taking me down to labor and delivery again to try and stop my contractions.  I called Jase and told him to get to the hospital asap.  They hooked me up to more magnesium and gave me a couple of other things to try and get my contractions to stop.  Finally around 10:30 they stopped and Jase and I tried to get some sleep around 12:00.  (Sleeping on a magnesium dip with two babies being monitored is pretty much impossible)  My doctor came in Sunday morning (Mother's Day) to check on me and I was dialated to a 6 and she told Jase and I that I could stay on L&D until my water broke (she gave me a day before that happened) or we could have a C-Section that morning to get my little girls out.  We chose to have them when everyone was not under stress so about a half hour later I was wheeled into surgery.  I was terrifed!  The got me all prepped and Jase came in when they were ready to start.  We heard Isabelle's little cry first and she sounded like a baby kitten.  Jase stood up to see her and he saw them pull Olivia out.  Isabelle weighed 3 lbs 11 oz and Olivia weighed 3 lbs 4 oz.  They showed me the girls and then rushed them to the NICU.  When I got back to my room both of our families were there.  They had to stabilize the girls before anyone could see them but after what seemed like 3 hours Jase was able to take our families in the NICU.  I couldn't go though until my legs weren't numb.  That was the hardest thing.  I finally got to see my sweet babies around 6:00.  So amazing!!!

And a year later Isabelle weighs 19 lbs 2 oz and Olivia weighs 16 lbs 3 oz.  They have done so well and other than just being a little small for their age there were no long term problems.  We have honestly seen so many blessings this year and we are so grateful for our beautiful daughters.  Happy Birthday Babies!

Lately.....

Yes we finally got another crib.  The girls were not sleeping very well because they wanted to roll on top of each other all the time so we went out and got Isabelle a brand new crib.  They have been sleepig much better since then.

We also go high chairs for the girls.  They love them and our dinner time has been so much better since they can sit up to the table with Jase and I and feed themselves some snacks.  They were using bumbos before but poor little Isabelle's legs couldn't fit in there any more.

Okay.....Before I tell this story you have to promise you won't judge......So a couple of Saturdays ago the girls woke up and I fixed them a bottle but I was so tired I decided to go lay back down and listen for them to be done.  They weren't crawling yet so they really couldn't get that far and I can hear them play with their toys so I thought this shouldn't be a problem....So I laid down but I never heard the girls start playing with their toys.  It was very very quiet out in the living room so I got up and the above picture is what I found....I forgot that I had left a bowl of popcorn on the floor and Isabelle decided to help herself to it.  You can tell by the look on her face that she knew she was caught.  Needless to say I don't go back to bed anymore and I make sure that everything is picked up off the floor.

Isabelle enjoying some spaghetti.  Well...She didn't really like the noodles but she would suck all the sauce off and then spit the noodles out.

Olivia is my really good eater.  She really loves everything especially grown up food.  She loved the spaghetti and she loves to spread her food all over her face while she's eating.

Easter Sunday and 11 Months

Yes that's right Isabelle and Olivia turned 11 months on Easter Sunday.  The time has flown by.  I can't believe that we'll celebrate their 1st birthday next month.  On Easter we had breakfast and an Easter Egg hunt with the Osborne Family and then we went to my parents house for dinner and another Easter Egg Hunt.  It was very fun and I think the girls liked their 1st Easter.

Here is what the Easter Bunny dropped off for the girls.
The girls with their baskets.

The girls have grown so much lately.  They got their last RSV shot the 1st of April and Isabelle weighed 19 lbs and Olivia was 16.5.  They can move all over the place but they will only crawl backwards.  Isabelle prefers to roll because she can get there faster.  Olivia loves to scoot around backward and then put herself up to sitting position.  They have always been good little sleepers but lately they have been so hard to get to sleep through the night.  Partly because we moved, they got a cold and now they can climb on top of each other or steal each others binkies.  So.....we are going to buy a new crib this weekend.  We borrowed my parents pack and play and I had Isabelle sleep in there last night and they slept through the night and I had to wake them up at 8 this morning to eat.  Here's a picture of them snuggling in one crib I took a couple weeks ago.  I went in there a couple of nights ago because Olivia had started to cry and sure enough Isabelle was full on on top of her but she was sound asleep.  Olivia had pushed her off before I could take a picture of it but it was so funny.

And last but not least in celebration of opening day at Yankee Stadium.....Jase and I put this little puzzle together.  Go Yankees! (Yes we got a little bored this week)

Cooking Group

My sister Jennifer decided to start a cooking group and she invited me and Amie to join.  We got together last Friday and made a couple of freezer dishes.  It was so fun to get together and it made cooking 3 meals (turned into 7 for me since it's just Jase and I) so much easier.  We decided that we would each bring a recipe to make.  Jennifer brought a tortellini dish recipe that has marinara and cheese striped with alfredo sauce.   Amie brought sloppy joe recipe and I brought a recipe for chicken and rice soup that is to die for.  (I stole it from my cousin Holly) Honestly I could eat this soup everyday.  We decided to get together once a month and I'm so excited.  It's fun to get to try new recipes and have help making them.  Cooking was a little difficult because we had all of our kids there (Jenn's 5, my two and Amie's 1.5) and my kids were really having a hard day so thanks to my sisters for helping me cook and take care of my kiddos!

I really meant to take some pictures of us cooking and of the dishes that we made but I was a slacker and didn't so here is the only picture I have of me and my sisters.  Next month I'll be better about taking pics.

Happy Valentine's Day!

Happy Valentine's day!  This has never been my favority holiday but this year I really was looking forward to it.  The girls got some valentine's from their grandparents and lots of sugar that someone (me) had to eat :)  Jase and I decided to stay in on Valentine's day and go out on President's day since he had the day off.  We went to see This Means War and ate at Ruby River.  It was so nice and fun to get out just the two of us.

Happy 18 months and 9 months!

Jase and I have been married for a whole 18 months!  It for sure doesn't feel like it's been a year and half but it has.  We have had a busy and exciting married life so far with many ups and downs (mostly ups) and I can't wait to see what the future will hold for us and our little family!  Happy 18 months!

Our wedding day

On our honeymoon

Our girls were 9 months old on the 8 of February!  The time has flown by.  I was just looking at their pictures from when they came home from the NICU and I can't believe how much they have grown since then.  They have the funniest little personalities and they love to laugh at pretty much everything.  They are pros at rolling around and sitting up.  They love to eat vegetables (not such big fans of fruit) and oatmeal.  Hopefully they will be crawling by the end of this month and maybe even get a tooth or two :)  We are so grateful for two beautiful and healthy little girls.  Our lives are so blessed to be able to have these sweet spirits in our family.

Our beautiful baby girls.

I love Isabelle's face in this picture.  She was right in the middle of a big giggle.

Olvia's sweet face.

Isabelle has been obsessed with her tongue lately.  She is always sticking it out.
